In a solemn ceremony, officials have transferred the key of the Holy Kaaba to Sheikh Abdul Wahhab bin Zain Al Abdin Al Shaibi, following the passing of the former key holder, Sheikh Saleh Al Shaiba. The responsibility of this sacred role now falls to the eldest in the family, maintaining the centuries-old tradition.

As the new official key holder, Sheikh Abdul Wahhab's first significant duty will be overseeing the placement of the Kiswah, the ceremonial cloth that covers the Kaaba, on the 1st of Muharram. Embracing his new role, Sheikh Abdul Wahhab expressed his dedication, stating, “May God grant me success in carrying out this duty under the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince.”

This transition marks a new chapter in the stewardship of one of Islam's holiest sites, ensuring the continuity of this revered custodianship.
