World’s First Licensed Aerial Taxi

Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, announced that this aerial taxi is the first in the world to be officially licensed by a civil aviation authority. The launch event featured a vertical takeoff demonstration of the autonomous vehicle, attended by notable figures including Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, president of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), and Rumaih Al-Rumaih, Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics Services.

Part of Saudi Arabia’s Innovative Transport Strategy

Al-Jasser highlighted that this aerial taxi service is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts to incorporate cutting-edge transport technologies and promote eco-friendly transport models powered by artificial intelligence.

This initiative aligns with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, aiming to modernize the transport sector with innovations such as air taxis, electric cars, and hydrogen trains. The ministry is committed to enhancing smart mobility by developing supportive legislation and systems.
