Flight From Cairo Diverted After Pilot’s Sudden Death

A Nesma Airlines flight NE130, traveling from Cairo to Taif, was unexpectedly diverted to Jeddah following the sudden death of the pilot, Hassan Youssef Adas, during the journey.

The flight departed from Cairo International Airport as scheduled, carrying over a hundred passengers. The trip was proceeding routinely until midway, when Captain Adas experienced a medical emergency.

Despite immediate efforts to assist him, Captain Adas tragically passed away from a sudden heart attack.

The co-pilot, taking command of the situation, safely redirected the aircraft to King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah. In a statement, the co-pilot expressed his sorrow: “We apologize for diverting the flight to King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah because of the death of my brother and friend Captain Hassan, the pilot.”

The flight landed safely in Jeddah, ensuring the safety of all passengers on board. The airline and aviation authorities have extended their condolences to Captain Adas's family and are offering support during this difficult time.

This incident underscores the importance of stringent health checks and preparedness for in-flight medical emergencies within the aviation industry. Nesma Airlines has assured passengers that all necessary measures were taken to handle the situation with the utmost care and efficiency.
