Heeramandi to Get a Second Season!

The courtesans are coming back! Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's hit Netflix series 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' is set to return with a second season. 

The announcement was made by the Bhansali Productions and Netflix India channels across social media, which featured a flash mob dance on Carter Road in Mumbai, India.

The video featured a group of dancers dancing to the hit songs of 'Heeramandi' including 'Sakal Ban' and 'Tilasmi Bahein'.

At the end of the video, the group of dancers stand to form 'S2', indicating the return of the series for a second season!

Heeramandi's first season featured Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Sheikh in lead roles. These actresses play the courtesans based in Lahore's Heeramandi during the 1920s.

In an interview with Variety, Bhansali revealed some details about the second season's story. He said, "In 'Heeramandi 2,' the women now come from Lahore to the film world. They leave Lahore after the partition and most of them settle in the Mumbai film industry or Kolkata film industry." 

'Heeramandi' ranked in the Top 10 TV Shows on Netflix in 43 countries, becoming the most-watched Indian series globally.
