PIF's Saudi International Golf Tournament Heads to Riyadh

For the first time, Riyadh will host PIF's Saudi International golf tournament, previously held in King Abdullah Economic City.

The prestigious event is scheduled from Wednesday, December 4, to Saturday, December 7, serving as a thrilling season finale for both the Asian Tour and The International Series.

Golf enthusiasts can look forward to stellar performances from confirmed players, including defending champion Abraham Ancer, 2022 champion Harold Varner III, 2019 and 2021 winner Dustin Johnson, and 2022 Open Champion Cameron Smith. The stakes are high, with players vying for the USD 1 million first prize, the most coveted award on the Asian Tour.

Moreover, the champion of the season-ending International Series Rankings will earn a spot in the 2025 LIV Golf League, adding an extra layer of excitement to the competition.

The event will take place at the Riyadh Golf Club, one of the Kingdom's premier golf courses. Known for its challenging 72-par layout, the 18-hole championship course stretches over 7,434 yards of undulating fairways. Located just 20 minutes from central Riyadh, the club offers top-tier golf and leisure facilities, making it a prime venue for this significant tournament.

Golf has rapidly gained popularity in Saudi Arabia, highlighted by the announcement of a brand-new island golf course. Shura Island, the central hub of Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Project, is set to welcome guests next year. Alongside nearly a dozen luxurious hotels from world-renowned brands, it will feature Shura Links, the country’s first 18-hole island golf course.

As the Saudi International tournament arrives in Riyadh, it marks a new chapter for golf in the Kingdom, showcasing its growing appeal and the nation's commitment to developing world-class sporting events.
